Light Dragoons Mess Dress King's Cypher Badge - Silver on Scarlet - Tudor Crown

Mess dress insignia for The Light Dragoons, for wear on mess kit at regimental dinners, mess functions and formal occasions.

Light Dragoons are the only Unit to wear this as it was an award to the WOs and NCOs of 15TH King's Light Dragoons, one of our predecessor Regiments.

It originates from 1801 when the Duke of Cumberland (Colonel of 15 Kings Light Dragoons) obtained permission from the crown to wear a special to arm badge for non-commissioned officers.
